1st post - Introduction
MTV Jams is an extension of MTV that airs exclusively on digital cable. The station plays only hip-hop/rap videos 24/7. I want the powers that be to consider airing some uncut video content on an already great channel.
In 2006, Black Entertainment Television aired its last episode of BET: Uncut, a late night music video program that featured videos too graphic and explicit for daytime airing. The show had a huge following despite the fact that it aired around 2am.
If MTV Jams started showing uncut material they would be picking up where BET left off. It would mean higher ratings for the channel and a rise in interest in the channel all together.
The channel being exclusively available for digital cable subscribers is an advantage that BET did not have. BET got a lot of criticism because almost any body could see their uncut show if they had basic cable. Digital cable on the other hand allows quite a bit more flexibilty with censorship.
